This is a stone mill specifically designed for grinding coffee beans.
It is not suitable for grinding matcha, soba, or any other materials.

Here are the features of the Coffee Stone Mill:

  1. Easy to use – You can grind just the amount of coffee beans you need with ease.

  2. Pleasant sound and feel – Unlike electric grinders that make loud “grinding” noises, this stone mill produces a soothing cracking sound as the beans break, and that satisfying sensation is transferred to your hand through the handle.

  3. Aromatic experience – Every time you grind, the rich aroma of coffee fills the air.

  4. Adjustable grind size – You can control the coarseness, from coarse to fine and even espresso grind, by adjusting the amount of beans per rotation.

It may be a little difficult at first, but with practice, you’ll master it.

  1. Extremely durable – Its simple structure of just two stacked stones means there is almost no chance of failure. It can be used for decades without maintenance. (The grinding grooves are designed to resist wear.)

  2. No mess – The lower millstone is specially processed to prevent ground coffee from scattering outside.

  3. Efficient grinding – With most conventional coffee stone mills, a large amount of half-ground coffee remains on the lower stone after use.
However, my stone mill is designed with a unique groove pattern on the upper stone that leaves almost no residue. (Unfortunately, I cannot show the design in photos.)

The total weight is about 22 kg, and the dimensions are approximately 25 cm wide and 24 cm tall.
There are five different design styles, but all have the same size and weight.

As for the size and weight – these are the minimum requirements to grind coffee beans consistently and stably.
Some customers request a “smaller version,” but I explain that this is not possible, and I produce them only in this standard size.

The lower millstone features wear-resistant grooves, and the grinding surface is lowered by approximately 8 mm from the outer rim to prevent ground coffee from scattering.
Craftsmen in the stoneworking field would understand the importance of this design, but precisely lowering this surface is a highly challenging process.

Furthermore, I believe I am the only one who can accurately carve and polish the outer groove—which catches the coffee grounds—at exactly the same depth with such precision.
