メキシコでKokoro Lifeという抹茶のブランドを運営されているオーナー夫妻が来社。
到着時間が遅かったので夕食を用意して、そのままゲストハウスに宿泊して頂きました
以前にもメキシコからカフェのオーナー夫婦が来られて抹茶石臼の説明をして、その場で購入頂きスーツケースに入れて持ち帰られました（相当重かったです）
メキシコの公用語はスペイン語ですが、片言の英語での受け答えに苦労したのですが、今回はスマホの翻訳ソフトを練習してお迎えしました。
今回は余裕で対応出来ると思っていたのですが、スマホに日本語で話しかけても正しく日本語を認識してくれないのと途中で停止してしまう。
結局、私の方は中学生レベルの英語で話し、英語の聞き取りは無理なのでオーナーには翻訳ソフトで日本語にしてもらう方法で会話しました。
それでも時間は掛かりましたが、なんとか理解してもらい役目は果たせたのかな？と思います。
追記
熊本駅から私の工房までの交通機関を聞かれたのですが、熊本駅から三角駅までのルートを説明して自家用車で三角駅まで迎えに行き、翌日の帰りも三角駅まで車で送りました。
送り出したあとで「英語を勉強しよう」とその時は思いました。
The owner couple who runs the matcha brand "Kokoro Life" in Mexico visited our company.
Since they arrived late in the evening, we prepared dinner for them and had them stay overnight at our guesthouse.
Previously, another couple who owned a café in Mexico had visited us. We explained how to use the matcha stone mill, and they decided to purchase one on the spot, packing it into their suitcase to take back with them (it was quite heavy!).
**Although Spanish is the official language in Mexico, we struggled to communicate in broken English back then. This time, I practiced using a translation app on my smartphone in preparation for their visit.
I thought I would be able to handle things more smoothly, but the app didn’t recognize my spoken Japanese correctly and often stopped mid-sentence.
In the end, I spoke in simple English at about a junior high school level, and since I couldn’t understand their English very well, we had the owners use the translation app to convert their speech into Japanese.
Even though it took time, I think we managed to communicate and fulfill our purpose."

"They asked how to get from Kumamoto Station to my workshop. I explained the route to Misumi Station and picked them up by car from there. The next day, I also drove them back to Misumi Station.
After seeing them off, I told myself, 'I should really study English
